Malcolm Manning: Extended Mind Practices – Towards Radical Calmness
lecture
In this lecture/demonstration, Malcolm Manning employs movement experiments, words and gentle humour to recount how somatics emerged from the countercultural human potential movement of 1960s/1970s; how its radical potential was diffused by neoliberalism; and how the field of consciousness studies might offer some keys towards reinventing itself as a force for political good in the 21st century.
26th October 2019, 7 pm, Museum of Contemporary Art, Gorgona Hall
Improspections invite to Close Encounters
Close Encounters of the Dance Kind is a form that balances between interview, performance, dialogue on the methodology of work and private conversation. Conversation about their artistic practices, motivations, experiences, performances, choreography, inspirations, role models … is transformed into improvisation situations by artists in front of the audience.
